Share prices continue falling on JSX
JAKARTA (JP): Share prices continued to close lower on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) yesterday with most issues losing ground in heavy trading.
The broad-based Composite Index closed 4.95 points lower at 480.95 yesterday from 485.9 on Monday, when it lost 6.46 points.
The narrower-based GTDBS-50 Index also weakened to close at 114.79 from 115.72.
Losers included Bakrie & Brothers (down Rp 800), Kalbe Farma (down Rp 600), Smart Corporation (down Rp 325), Astra Int'l Inc. and HM Sampoerna (down Rp 300 each) and Duta Anggada Realty (down Rp 250).
Trading volume sank to 8.08 million shares valued at Rp 35.82 billion (US$16.7 million) yesterday from 19.72 million shares valued at Rp 87.4 billion ($40.74 million) on Monday.
Around 4.96 million shares valued at Rp 20.84 billion of the total volume changed hands on the regular market, 2.09 million shares worth Rp 9.01 million on the cross trading board and 1.02 million shares valued at Rp 5.96 million on the foreign board.
No shares were traded on the bloc sale, odd lot and cash trading boards yesterday. (icn)
