Indonesian soccer fans must be enchanted by the Euro 96 Cup
tournament. The excellent individual performances throughout the
championship tournament will no doubt continue to fascinate
Indonesian fans. Our young players have much to learn from the
European players' skill, high morale and sportiveness.

I must admit that Indonesian soccer is far below European
quality. Indonesian soccer cannot even meet Asian standards.

Soccer has become a professional occupation, and Indonesian
soccer must be directed toward such professionalism in order to
become high achievers on and in the field. Professionalism must
be imbued in the players, coaches, and board of directors. Even
spectators must be professional in supporting their favorite
club.

A special effort must be made to enhance the capability and
quality of Indonesian soccer players.
