President Prabowo Subianto held a Nuzulul Quran event at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on the evening of 10 March 2026. Several ministers and leaders of Islamic civil society organisations (Ormas) arrived at the Presidential Palace complex ahead of the Nuzulul Quran commemoration.

According to observations on Tuesday, 10 March 2026 at 7:00 p.m. West Indonesian Time, invited guests had begun arriving at the Presidential Palace Complex. Several ministers were present, including Religious Affairs Minister Nazaruddin Umar, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, Deputy Minister of Culture Giring Ganesha, Coordinating Minister for Legal, Human Rights and Immigration Affairs Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Coordinating Minister for the Prime Minister Muhaimin Iskandar, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadiki, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, and Digital Minister Meutya Hafid.

Additionally present were Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Setyo Budiyanto and Regional Representative Council (DPD) Chairman Sultan Bachtiar Najamuddin, as well as religious scholars Quraish Shihab and Alwi Shihab.

Cak Imin, the Coordinating Minister for the Prime Minister, stated that the Nuzulul Quran event was an opportunity to commemorate the revelation of the holy Qur’an. He hoped the commemoration during the last ten nights of Ramadan would foster spiritual unity across all segments of society.

“We have been invited to participate in Nuzulul Quran as a national moment to commemorate the revelation of the Qur’an in this blessed month full of divine guidance,” he said.

“These last ten days we should use properly to strengthen the spiritual unity of our nation through Nuzulul Quran,” he added.

Religious Affairs Minister Nazaruddin Umar explained that this year’s Nuzulul Qur’an commemoration carried the theme “The Qur’an, Ecological Trust, and the Path to World Peace.” This theme was chosen to affirm the relevance of the Qur’an’s message in addressing various global challenges, including environmental and peace issues.

“The Qur’an not only speaks about the relationship between humans and God, but also the relationship between humans and nature and one another. Therefore, the message of ecological stewardship and world peace has become very important for us to emphasise,” said Nazaruddin in a statement.

According to him, the values contained in the Qur’an provide moral guidance for humanity to maintain the balance of nature whilst building social harmony within global society.

“We want to demonstrate that the Qur’an teaches ecological responsibility and the spirit of peace. This is an important message that religion is present as a solution to various human problems,” he continued.

Nazaruddin also stressed that the Nuzulul Quran commemoration at the State Palace was an opportunity to strengthen collective awareness that the Qur’an’s values must be realised in real life.

“This commemoration is not merely a ceremony, but also a reminder that the Qur’an’s message must be translated into concrete action—caring for the earth, building solidarity, and bringing about peace,” he emphasised.
