Several Law Firms Blacklist Names of Sexual Harassment Perpetrators at FH UI
Several law students at the University of Indonesia’s Faculty of Law (FH UI) are suspected of committing sexual harassment within their campus environment. The case has drawn public attention after more than a dozen law students were tried by a forum at the FH UI Auditorium on Monday (13/4/2026). The victim’s legal representative, Timotius Rajagukguk, stated that the case has garnered widespread societal attention, including from FH UI alumni now working in the legal field. According to him, these alumni have blacklisted the names of the perpetrators, considering that the suspects are likely to pursue careers in law upon graduation. “Here, I also want to express appreciation to the FH UI alumni who have actively paid attention to this case in several of our groups, and the names of the perpetrators have already been noted by several law firms and large companies,” he said, quoted on Wednesday (15/4/2026). Previously, the Deputy Chair of BEM UI, Fathimah Azzahra, said that her side had taken statements from several victims of sexual violence. From those statements, it was found that the perpetrators do not fully regret their actions. In fact, the perpetrators claimed to be safe because they have backing. “They claim to be safe, they act as if they are immune to the law, they even say themselves that they have power on this campus, they have backing that will support them, and they state it openly,” she said at Pusgiwa UI on Tuesday (14/4/2026). According to her, the perpetrators’ statements about having backing constitute an insult to the campus’s integrity. Moreover, this was stated by FH UI students, who should understand the supremacy of the law. “Here, we firmly and boldly state that no matter whose child it is, whose family it is, whether police, TNI, lawyers, or having family within the campus, whatever it is, they must not bypass the law that they themselves should most guard and study on campus,” said Fathimah. Therefore, she stated that the UI-wide BEM Alliance will monitor the case until it is resolved. According to her, the perpetrators must truly receive punishment and consequences in accordance with the applicable regulations. “They must not escape the regulations set by the state and the campus itself,” she said. She mentioned that, based on the UI Rector’s Regulation, which is a follow-up to Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Regulation Number 55 of 2024, the campus is obliged to impose heavy administrative sanctions on perpetrators of sexual violence. One form of punishment is expelling the perpetrators from UI. “Their statements feeling too high to be punished should be sufficient as an aggravating factor, because it shows a lack of remorse on their part,” said Fathimah. It is known that the case began when the contents of a group chat involving 16 FH UI students spread on social media X. The chat contents included harassment and objectification of women, from fellow students to even lecturers. The perpetrators are initialled IK, KEP, MDP, RFR, MVR, MT, PDP, DSW, MKA, MAR, MNA, SPB, AHF, NZF, RM, and RBS.
