Heavy rainfall that drenched Jakarta since Sunday morning (8 March) triggered flooding on several road sections and disrupted public transport operations. PT TransJakarta (TJ) said it adjusted services on 17 routes to safeguard passenger safety and comfort.

Ayu Wardhani, Head of Public Relations and CSR, said the adjustments affected several bus rapid transit (BRT), Mikrotrans, and integrated services because flooding impeded bus corridors.

‘In relation to the heavy rainfall that caused flooding at several points, Trans-Jakarta is implementing operational adjustments on Sunday morning for safety and comfort,’ she said.

She detailed adjustments on five BRT corridors. Among them, Corridor 2A route Pulogadung 1–Rawa Buaya was shortened to Damai Halt due to flooding in Corridor 3 at the Pulo Nangka section.

Next, Corridor 3 Kalideres–Monas was shortened to Damai–Monas in both directions due to floodwaters and a collapsed road barrier.

Additionally, Corridor 6 Ragunan–Galunggung was diverted due to flooding around the Mampang Underpass.

Corridor 9 Pinang Ranti–Pluit was diverted via Tol Slipi 1 because flooding exceeded 30 centimetres after Halte Grogol.

Corridor 13E Puribeta–Kuningan was diverted via the elevated route due to flooding in the Mampang Underpass.

Adjustments also affected Mikrotrans services covering 10 routes. Two routes, JAK.04 (Grogol–Jembatan Dua) and JAK.30 (Meruya–Citraland), were temporarily suspended due to flooding at critical points on the routes.

Meanwhile, route JAK.85 (Bintara–Cipinang Indah) was shortened due to floods measuring 25–35 centimetres on Jalan Kompleks Cipinang Indah II.

Other routes were diverted as well, including JAK.108 (Kramat Jati–Bambu Apus), JAK.37 (Cililitan–Condet), JAK.53 (Grogol–Pos Pengumben), JAK.71 (Kampung Rambutan–Pinang Ranti), JAK.75 (Kampung Pulo–Cililitan), JAK.78A (Benda–Penjaringan), and JAK.93 (Jeruk Purut–Kebayoran Lama).

Trans-Jakarta also adjusted two other services. Integrated Public Transport 1C (Blok M–Pesanggrahan) was rerouted due to flooding about 50 centimetres on Jalan Ciledug Raya. Non-BRT service route 3E (Sentraland Cengkareng–Puri Kembangan) was temporarily suspended due to flooding at Simpang Kapuk.

Ayu said apologies for the inconvenience caused by the service adjustments. She urged the public to monitor route developments regularly before travelling and to adjust travel plans accordingly via the TJ Transjakarta app or the official Trans-Jakarta social media channels.

At least 75 RTs and 19 roads were affected by the flooding that hit Jakarta since Saturday (7 March).
