Series of Advisories for Indonesian Citizens Following US and Israeli Attacks on Iran: Postpone Travel and Remain Alert
JAKARTA – The Indonesian Government has issued various advisories regarding the safety of Indonesian citizens (WNI) following attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran over the past weekend.
These advisories apply to Indonesian nationals in conflict zones and surrounding areas, as well as those planning air travel or other journeys.
The attacks were carried out by Israel on Saturday, 28 February 2026. Following the strikes, Israel closed its airspace and declared a state of emergency. Explosions were also reported in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the US military base in Jordan has been reported as a target.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) has requested that Indonesian citizens remain calm but vigilant and take necessary measures for the protection of themselves and their families. Similar advisories have been issued by several Indonesian embassies in Middle Eastern countries, including the embassy in Amman, Jordan.
The Indonesian Embassy in Tehran continues to coordinate with the Foreign Affairs Ministry’s office in Jakarta, including decisions regarding whether evacuation of Indonesian nationals in Iran is required in the near term.
“Further updates will be provided periodically through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly through the Ministry’s spokesperson,” said Roy.
It is understood that approximately 329 Indonesian citizens currently reside in the Tehran area. The Foreign Affairs Ministry has confirmed that no Indonesian nationals were killed in the Israeli missile attacks on the city.
Additionally, Kemlu has requested that Indonesian citizens postpone travel to the Middle East region following the Israeli and American attacks on Iran. The travel postponement advisory will remain in effect until the situation becomes more stable, in order to ensure the safety and security of those travelling abroad.
