Officers carried out a raid on Monday night (4/5/2026) at several shops and herbal kiosks. The officers visited several points that had been mapped based on information from residents and monitoring by the officers.

In the operation, the officers succeeded in securing dozens of bottles of liquor from various brands. In addition, two jerry cans containing the traditional drink tuak ready for distribution were seized.

Cikeusal Police Chief, Iptu Harus Saleh, stated that this pekat operation is a form of the police’s quick response to public complaints regarding the circulation of illegal liquor.

“This activity is carried out as a follow-up to information from the community and media reports regarding the rampant circulation of illegal liquor in the Cikeusal area,” said the Police Chief.

According to him, the circulation of illegal liquor not only violates the law but also has the potential to trigger disturbances to public security and order (kamtibmas).

During the raid, the officers also provided guidance to the traders caught selling liquor. They were reminded not to repeat their actions.

“We give a firm warning to the traders not to sell alcoholic beverages again. If found again, they will certainly be dealt with according to the applicable law,” he emphasised.

All evidence from the operation was then taken to the Cikeusal Police Station for safekeeping. The liquor is planned to be destroyed in the near future.

The Police Chief added that similar operations will continue to be carried out periodically to suppress the circulation of liquor in its jurisdiction.

“We are committed to continuing to conduct pekat operations routinely to maintain a conducive kamtibmas situation. We also urge the public not to hesitate to report if they know of any illegal liquor sales activities in their surroundings,” he concluded.
