The Serang Police Department has launched an Affordable Food Campaign (Gerakan Pangan Murah) to maintain food price stability ahead of Eid 2026. The discounted market helps residents meet their essential needs as the religious holiday approaches.

The campaign was held at the Ciruas substation headquarters on Friday, 13 March 2026. Community members enthusiastically purchased essential goods at below-market prices.

During the initiative, Serang Police provided various staple items for sale to the public. One of these was SPHP rice (Food Supply and Price Stabilisation) from Perum Bulog Serang Subdivision, a medium-quality product.

The SPHP rice was packaged in 5-kilogramme units and sold at 55,000 rupiah per package. Additionally, Minyak Kita cooking oil in 1-litre containers was available at 15,000 rupiah per bottle.

Serang Police Chief AKBP Andri Kurniawan stated that the Affordable Food Campaign represents the Indonesian National Police’s concern for the community’s economic situation, particularly in maintaining stable prices for essential goods on the market.

“Through this initiative, we want to help the community obtain essential goods at more affordable prices whilst maintaining food price stability in Serang Regency,” Andri said.

According to the police chief, the prices were intentionally set lower to assist residents in meeting their daily essential needs, especially ahead of major religious observances.

“We hope this programme truly benefits the community. The police are present not only to maintain security, but also to support the welfare of residents,” said the former Pangandaran Police Chief.

In addition to selling staple items at discounted prices, Serang Police Chief also distributed 30 free packages of SPHP rice and 1-litre Minyak Kita cooking oil to residents in attendance who were in need.
