According to reports from the station on Tuesday morning, numerous passengers waiting for train departures were forced to sit on the floor without seating because all available seats were occupied by other passengers.

Additionally, the main lobby of Pasar Senen Station was packed with homebound travellers, with almost no empty space as prospective passengers occupied every corner whilst waiting.

Suyitno, a homebound traveller from Cilacap District in Central Java, stated that he had no issue waiting for departure whilst sitting on the floor, as the current period represented peak exodus season, which naturally meant the station would be crowded.

“It’s busy right now, so all the seating is full,” said Suyitno.

Moreover, he noted that the train had toilets onboard, and the cabin was clean and air-conditioned, prompting him to prefer the train to return to his hometown with his wife and two children.

“On the train, using the toilet is easy and doesn’t require long waits. It’s different when taking a bus or other vehicles,” Suyitno remarked.

He also noted that train transport was reliable and punctual, unaffected by traffic congestion despite the peak migration season.

Meanwhile, another homebound traveller from Blora District in Central Java, Harsono, expressed gratitude at securing train tickets to return home.

He explained that he had to book tickets well in advance for the Airlangga train, which remained very affordable during peak season at 104,000 rupiah per person.

“The tickets are cheap; if taking other vehicles, you definitely won’t get them,” Harsono said.
