Seminar to discuss pharmacy

JAKARTA (JP): Government officials and a prominent economist will discuss the impact of trade liberalization on Indonesia's pharmaceutical industry in a seminar here on May 30, an executive said yesterday

A deputy chairman of the Indonesian Association of Pharmaceuticals Companies, J.R.Kosasih, said the seminar, which will be opened by Minister of Health Sujudi, will feature Director General of Food and Drug Supervision Wisnu Katim and a deputy to the cabinet secretary, Bambang Kesowo, as speakers. They will discuss various government policies and Indonesia's legal preparations for trade liberalization.

Hadi Soesastro, executive director of the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), will discuss the challenges and opportunities offered by trade liberalization for the development of Indonesia's pharmaceutical industry, while a director of PT Tempo Scan Pacific, J.R. Kosasih, will analyze the industry's capability to adapt itself to trade liberalization. (32)
