Semarang city government: 97 per cent of roads ready for Eid holiday travellers
Semarang, Central Java – The Semarang City Government has ensured road infrastructure durability across the region has reached approximately 97 per cent to welcome the arrival of Eid holiday travellers during the 2026 Eid exodus.
Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti confirmed on Friday that road infrastructure in Central Java’s capital is in prime condition to receive the 2026 Eid holiday traffic surge.
From intensive field monitoring results, she said, the durability level of city roads has reached 97 per cent and is ready to provide comfort for millions of residents who will pass through or travel within Semarang.
“We ensure that as of today, the condition of city roads is very ready. Of the total 839 kilometres of Semarang’s road network, 97 per cent are already in good condition. I want anyone who enters Semarang to feel safe, without having to worry about infrastructure obstacles,” she said.
To achieve this target, the city government conducted a road repair marathon through a patching scheme.
“We continue to accelerate efforts. There are a total of 3,112 road treatment points that we have handled massively since January using quality hotmix material,” she said.
“All physical work is targeted to be completed before the holiday period, so that heavy equipment does not disrupt traffic flow,” she added.
Agustina also encouraged residents to proactively report any road damage findings through the Lapor Semar channel, hoping this could speed up government response on the ground if obstacles occur due to weather factors.
