Sekar Laut's dividend

SURABAYA (JP): Shareholders of publicly listed PT Sekar Laut approved over the weekend the company's proposal to distribute dividends of Rp 30 a share.

The company said the dividend payout would total Rp 2.25 billion, or 31.2 percent of last year's net profit.

It said it booked a net profit of Rp 7.2 billion (US$2.94 million) last year, up by 11.1 percent from Rp 6.5 billion in 1995.

The company's sales rose by 17.6 percent to Rp 97.2 billion last year, it said after its shareholders meeting here.

The company, which produces traditional crackers, noodles and dries marine products, said it planned to expand its business production capacity and distribution network.

It installed new machinery in its factory this year and plans to multiply distribution outlets, with additional investment of about Rp 26.9 billion, the company said. (das/nur)
