Second seed lost in third round

JAKARTA (JP): Seeded players continued to fall victim to
unseeded opponents at the Astra International junior tennis
championships here yesterday, as Indonesian girls' singles second
seed Wukirasih Sawondari crashed to defeat in her match against
Enie Dominikovic of Australia.

Wukirasih staged a brilliant comeback after a first-set down,
but it was not enough to fend off the attack-minded Dominikovic,
who won 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, 6-2 for a quarterfinal berth. The
unseeded Australian will now meet Japanese seventh seed Inoui
Maiko who dispatched another Australian, Sarah Stanley, 6-4, 6-3.

But Lisa Andriani salvaged Indonesia's pride with her hard-
earned 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) win over fifth seed Khoo Chin Bee of
Malaysia. Lisa's brilliant run is facing an uphill battle,
though, in the form of Bryanne Stewart of Australia, who
vanquished Indonesian Federation Cupper and top seed Enny
Sulistyowati on Wednesday. (amd)
