A video of a school in Kubu Raya regency, West Kalimantan, refusing a delivery from the Free Nutritious Meals (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) programme has gone viral on social media. The footage showed a vehicle from the Air Force’s Nutrition Service Fulfilment Unit (Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi/SPPG) arriving after pupils had already left for the day.

The school rejected the MBG food containers because teaching and learning activities had concluded. The delivery vehicle arrived at 11:00 Western Indonesian Time, whilst pre-school (PAUD) pupils had been dismissed at 9:30.

The incident took place at PAUD Kuala Karya in Kuala 2 village, Sungai Raya sub-district, the previous week. The school, together with parents and guardians, decided to turn away the late delivery, noting that tardiness was not a first-time occurrence.

The head of SPPG Lanud Supadio SPO 2, Fani Noviyanti, issued a public apology. Accompanied by financial auditor Amel and nutrition supervisor Eca, she expressed regret in a formal statement.

“First and foremost, I wish to convey my sincere apologies for the distribution delay and the inconvenience experienced by the school and parents,” said Fani, as quoted in her official statement received on Friday, 20 February 2026.

She affirmed that operational responsibility for production and distribution rests entirely with the SPPG unit under her leadership, and that all evaluation and remedial measures fall under her unit’s formal responsibility.

“We have now conducted a comprehensive evaluation of our ingredient selection, food processing and distribution systems to ensure that similar incidents do not recur,” she said.
