JAKARTA (JP): A foundation that arranges scholarships for the poor received Rp 7.5 million from fast food restaurants and the Coca Cola soft drink company.
The foundation, Yayasan Pembinaan dan Asuhan Bunda, is chaired by noted social worker Johana Nasution.
The foundation distributes scholarships to poor students from the elementary to high school level.
Rp 20 was deducted from every cup of Coca Cola sold at participating fast food restaurants, said Lily Dharma, the program manager, in a company release to explain the campaign.
Arby's, Beef Bowl, Delli Joy and Hoka-Hoka Bento were among the participants. (anr)
