Saudi Arabia welcomes UN Human Rights Council resolution on impact of Iranian attacks
Riyadh (ANTARA) - Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the unanimous adoption by the UN Human Rights Council of a resolution addressing the impacts of Iran’s unjustified attacks on Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Jordan.
The Ministry noted that the adoption of the resolution by consensus during the 61st session of the council reflects the international community’s collective rejection of Iran’s attacks and condemnation of those actions as serious human rights violations.
“The Kingdom once again condemns Iran’s attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and countries in the region, which constitute a flagrant violation of state sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as a clear violation of the UN Charter and international law,” the ministry stated.
Saudi Arabia also emphasised that targeting countries that are not parties to the conflict constitutes overt aggression that cannot be justified or accepted.
