The Satpol PP of Kecamatan Kramat Jati has reiterated a strict ban on all forms of illegal levies (pungli) against street vendors (PKL) during Ramadan 1447 Hijriah. Field personnel are strictly forbidden to solicit contributions, whether in the form of Hari Raya allowances (THR) or other pretexts.

Head of Satpol PP Kecamatan Kramat Jati, Endharwanto, stated his commitment to maintaining institutional integrity during the holy month. ‘I have also told my staff that there is no Satpol PP Kecamatan Kramat Jati that begs for money or asks for THR or any other form of assistance from the traders or regional administrators,’ Endharwanto said during a ‘Bina Tertib Praja’ activity in Jakarta on Thursday 5 March.

Enforcement of Local By-Laws and Public Order: The ‘Bina Tertib Praja’ activity involves several relevant local government work units. This step is a follow-up to the East Jakarta Mayor’s declaration to strengthen wilayah order and to the instruction by the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP to ensure residents can worship with reverence.

‘So today, our Satpol PP Kramat Jati ranks together with the relevant SKPDs are following up on what was declared by the Mayor of East Jakarta regarding the Bina Tertib Praja activity,’ he said.

Swift Response to Public Reports: In addition to internal matters, Endharwanto highlighted the existence of external individuals impersonating organisations to solicit donations from the public. He confirmed reports via social media about someone soliciting funds for a breaking-fast gathering in the name of Karang Taruna.

‘I also stated that yesterday there was a report via our Instagram about indications of a person or group asking for assistance for a breaking-fast gathering in the name of Karang Taruna, Kramat Jati district,’ he said. He emphasised that the information was false and pledged that none of his members were involved. ‘We say that it is not true; there are no illegal levies,’ he added.

Disciplinary Sanctions Await: Satpol PP will not tolerate members found violating the rules. Strict disciplinary sanctions have been prepared for anyone who dares to commit extortion. ‘If there is any, I will process them in accordance with the employee discipline regulations,’ Endharwanto said. He also instructed field personnel to proactively clarify if they encounter similar reports so that wrongdoers can be identified. ‘In the field, I told them that if there are indications of such reports, they must be clarified immediately, do not let it go. We must find out which individual is responsible,’ he concluded.
