Satpol PP Shuts Down Nightclub in PIK over Drug Case, Business Permit Revoked
The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta), through the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), has closed the White Rabbit PIK nightclub in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area, North Jakarta. The closure was carried out after the entertainment venue’s business permit was revoked.
Head of Satpol PP DKI Jakarta, Satriadi Gunawan, stated that enforcement in the form of closure and cessation of business activities was taken against White Rabbit PIK. The business location is in the PIK area, Kapuk Muara Ward, Penjaringan Subdistrict.
“This enforcement is part of efforts to uphold the Regional Regulation (Perda) and Regional Regulation of the Governor (Perkada) against businesses that do not meet licensing requirements and applicable obligations,” Satriadi said in his statement on Friday (24/4/2026).
This closure is a follow-up to the uncovering of a drug trafficking case by the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) in March 2026. Police also conducted searches at several White Rabbit business locations, including in PIK, North Jakarta. The perpetrators and several pieces of evidence have been secured.
In response, Pemprov DKI, through the Tourism and Creative Economy Office (Disparekraf) DKI Jakarta, conducted comprehensive supervision and monitoring. The results declared that White Rabbit PIK violated Article 54 of Jakarta Governor’s Regulation (Pergub) No. 18 of 2018 on the Implementation of Tourism Businesses.
Due to this violation, Disparekraf DKI proposed the revocation of the business permit. This proposal was followed up by the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) DKI Jakarta by issuing a business permit revocation letter on 10 April 2026.
The revoked business permit covers several activities, from bars, restaurants, drinking houses or cafes, to karaoke, all within the same business location.
Disparekraf DKI then sent a recommendation for the closure of the business premises to Satpol PP on 20 April 2026. Satpol PP subsequently carried out enforcement based on the task letter issued on 21 April 2026.
Pemprov DKI Jakarta emphasised that this enforcement is a form of commitment to maintaining public order and ensuring that all business actors comply with applicable regulations.
“Pemprov DKI urges all business actors to obey licensing provisions and existing regulations to create an orderly and fair business climate,” Satriadi said.
