Satgas PASTI Shuts Down 953 Illegal P2P Lending and Investment Entities – OJK
Jakarta, 26 May 2026. The Task Force for Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) continues to strengthen efforts to combat illegal financial activities and address financial transaction fraud as part of consumer and public protection measures.
From 1 January 2026 to 31 March 2026, Satgas PASTI identified and shut down 951 illegal peer-to-peer (P2P) lending entities and two illegal investment schemes on various websites and applications that could potentially harm the public.
Satgas PASTI also noted several common modus operandi of illegal financial activities and fraud reported by the public, including:
Advertising services with deposit systems. This scheme offers earnings from simple activities such as leaving reviews, watching ads, or clicking links, requiring an initial deposit with promises of high returns.
Duplicate or imitation of licensed investment offerings (impersonation). Perpetrators copy the name, logo, or identity of legitimate financial service providers to deceive the public, though the offers are not made by authorised entities.
Fundraising offers. This modus provides funding for specific businesses or projects with guaranteed returns, but lacks clear business models, agreements, or adequate oversight.
Money games. Schemes relying on recruiting new members (member get member) as the source of profit payments, rather than genuine and sustainable business activities.
Illegal cryptocurrency asset trading. This involves investment or trading of crypto assets by unregistered or unauthorised entities, often accompanied by claims of high returns with no risk.
These modus operandi are commonly disseminated through social media, private messages, chat groups, and other digital channels.
Strengthening Fraud Handling through IASC
From 22 November 2024 to 31 March 2026, the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC) received 515,345 public reports. In handling these reports, 872,395 bank accounts were reported and verified, with 460,270 accounts blocked.
Through these efforts, a total of approximately Rp585.4 billion in victims’ funds were blocked. IASC has returned Rp169 billion to victims from accounts at 19 banks used by fraudsters.
Given the prevalence of illegal financial activities and transaction fraud, Satgas PASTI and OJK urge the public to:
Be cautious of investment or activity offers promising high, guaranteed, and quick returns;
Verify the legitimacy of business operators and financial services through OJK’s official channels (Contact 157);
Avoid trusting offers delivered via private messages, social media, or unclear sources;
Never share personal data, account details, OTP codes, or passwords with anyone; and
Immediately report suspected illegal financial activities to sipasti.ojk.go.id and transaction fraud to iasc.ojk.go.id.
Satgas PASTI will continue enhancing coordination with member agencies and relevant institutions to curb the spread of illegal financial activities online. These efforts are part of consumer and public protection to prevent individuals from falling victim to illegal loans that may cause financial loss, personal data misuse, and harassing debt collection practices.
If suspicious illegal investment or online loan offers are found, the public can report them via sipasti.ojk.go.id, OJK Contact 157, WhatsApp 081 157 157 157, or email konsumen@ojk.go.id.
Meanwhile, victims of transaction fraud can report incidents via iasc.ojk.go.id to support rapid blocking of perpetrators’ accounts.
