The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) has prepared satellite clinics in every sector of Mecca to deliver swift services to Hajj pilgrims suffering from health disturbances. “In each sector, there are on average four to five healthcare workers, including doctors and nurses, attached directly to the sector,” stated Ihsan Faisal, Head of the Mecca Work Area for the 2026 Hajj Organising Officers (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia, in Mecca on Sunday (26/4/2026). He explained that these satellite clinics serve as first-aid locations for ill pilgrims, preventing the need for immediate distant referrals. However, if a pilgrim’s condition requires advanced care beyond the satellite clinic’s capabilities, they will be promptly referred to the Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic (KKHI) in Aziziyah or directly to a Saudi Arabian hospital. He added that the number of medical personnel at these satellite clinics is in addition to the health workers already attached to each flight group (kloter). The Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic is currently supported by around 200 healthcare workers divided between the Mecca and Madinah regions. The provision of these sector-level satellite clinics aligns with the new policy of the Saudi Arabian government for the 1447 H/2026 CE Hajj season, which regulates healthcare service ratios, stipulating that one clinic must serve at least 5,000 pilgrims.
