Samsat Offices in South Sumatra Close for a Week During Joint Leave Period
Palembang — All Joint Samsat (Integrated Licensing and Tax Administration) offices in the South Sumatra region will close or temporarily suspend services for one week, from 18–24 March 2026, in observance of the national holiday and joint leave period for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
Achmad Rizwan, Head of the South Sumatra Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), said in Palembang on Saturday that all Joint Samsat offices and related service centres will not operate during this period.
“Services will resume normally on Wednesday, 25 March 2026,” he said.
For vehicles whose tax registration validity expires during the closure period of 18–24 March 2026, an exemption has been granted in the form of waiving administrative penalties if re-registration is completed on the first operational day, namely 25 March 2026.
This provision also applies to payments for the Mandatory Road Traffic Accident Fund Contribution (SWDKLLJ).
“For vehicles expiring during the joint leave period, registration can be done on 25 March 2026 without incurring penalties. However, if registration is carried out after that date, starting from 26 March 2026, administrative sanctions will be applied according to regulations,” he said.
Beyond the March holiday schedule, Samsat has also announced service adjustments for April 2026. The service office will close on Friday (3/4) and Sunday (5/4) due to major religious holidays.
However, on Saturday (4/4), services will remain open for the public before returning to full operations on Monday (6/4).
“Special provisions for SWDKLLJ follow vehicle tax policy. Payments made on the designated grace period date will not incur current-year penalties, but exceeding that deadline will result in penalties,” Rizwan said.
Meanwhile, South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru expressed appreciation to residents who continue to comply with vehicle tax payment obligations despite the extended holiday period.
Public participation in fulfilling tax obligations is an important factor in supporting regional development.
“We thank the people of South Sumatra for contributing to regional development through timely tax payments. The development achievements we see today are the result of our collective participation,” he said.
