Salatiga City to be Directly Accessed by Semarang-Solo Toll Road
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Good news for users of the Semarang-Solo Toll Road who will exit or enter at Salatiga, where access to the city centre will become much easier with the Pattimura Toll Access. The Toll Road Regulatory Body (BPJT) of the Ministry of Public Works (PU) states that the construction of the Pattimura Toll Access in Salatiga is part of the development of the Semarang-Solo toll road network, which functions to improve regional connectivity, particularly in supporting accessibility to Salatiga City.
“The presence of this access will shorten travel times for the public to and from Salatiga City and reduce traffic density at the existing toll access, especially the Salatiga Toll Gate,” said BPJT via its official Instagram @pupr_bpjt, quoted Saturday (9/5/2026).
In addition, this Pattimura Toll Access will drive economic growth around Salatiga City, including SMEs, tourism, and regional investment. Construction of the Pattimura Toll Access began in April 2026 with a contract value of Rp113.35 billion.
The implementation phases start with preparatory work, including mobilisation of equipment and site preparation, followed by earthworks such as land clearing and levelling. After that, the project enters the structural and construction phase as the main part of building this toll access.
The Pattimura Toll Access has a total length of 1.66 km, consisting of an on-ramp of 661 metres and an off-ramp of 998 metres, as well as handling of Pattimura Road for 555 metres. This work is targeted for completion in January 2027.
“We ensure that the work proceeds according to toll road minimum service standards, and we also carry out construction with the right quality, on time, and on budget,” BPJT continued.
BPJT will also coordinate across sectors, including central and local government, so that development can run optimally.
“We also encourage that this development not only focus on construction but also consider integration with the national and local road network, so that the benefits can be maximised for the public,” it explained.
However, the public will only be able to access this new route directly to Salatiga city centre from and to the direction of Semarang or Jakarta. Meanwhile, vehicles from or to Solo and Surabaya can only access the Salatiga Toll Gate.
BPJT explained the reason for this new access being usable only for vehicles from Semarang or Jakarta is to allow vehicles to go directly to Salatiga city centre without having to take a long detour.
“The reason the Pattimura Toll Access can only be used by vehicles from Semarang/Jakarta is so that vehicles can go directly to Salatiga city centre without a long detour, and of course it can encourage shopping in the city centre, so that SMEs and local businesses can thrive more,” it concluded.
