JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, has appreciated President Prabowo Subianto’s decision to increase allowances for ad hoc judges through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 5 of 2026.

The Nasdem politician hopes that adequate support in terms of facilities and income will enable the judges to work more optimally and maintain integrity in adjudicating cases.

“Alhamdulillah, it has been fulfilled; I am very proud of the President for paying attention to the welfare of ad hoc judges. May the judges work even better and more professionally,” said Sahroni when contacted by Kompas.com on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

Nevertheless, Sahroni also requested that the government pay attention to the welfare of other law enforcement officials, particularly those in the prosecutor’s office.

“Regarding the prosecutors, we also request the President’s attention, especially in remote areas, to ensure sufficient welfare,” he concluded.

It was previously reported that President Prabowo Subianto officially increased allowances for ad hoc judges through Perpres No. 5 of 2026 on Financial Rights and Facilities for Ad Hoc Judges, signed on 4 May 2026.

The regulation stipulates that ad hoc judges receive various monthly financial rights and facilities, including allowances, state housing, transport facilities, health insurance, security guarantees, travel expenses, and appreciation payments.

If such facilities are not yet available, the government may provide housing and transport allowances according to the state’s financial capacity.

The regulation also governs the provision of appreciation payments given at the end of the term, amounting to twice the received allowance.

The amount of allowances for ad hoc judges has seen a significant increase.

For the first level, such as in corruption courts, industrial relations, fisheries, human rights, and commerce courts, the allowance is set at Rp49,300,000.

Meanwhile, for the appeal level, the allowance reaches Rp62,500,000.

For the cassation level, ad hoc judges receive an allowance of Rp105,270,000.
