Safety in the city

As a Jakarta citizen who longs for safety, progress and
brightness in the city, I am in full support of the efforts made
by the Armed Forces and the Police to eradicate the hoodlums who
terrorize the community.

Jakarta should not become unsafe, inspiring fear in all.
Foreigners would also be afraid to come here to sightsee or to
invest capital.

Therefore the efforts to overcome troubled conditions in
Jakarta should be seriously continued. Apart from fighting the
hoodlums, steps must also be taken against their protectors.

Order in Jakarta must be maintained. The city should be clean
from hoodlums. Unwanted are also street fights generated by
secondary school students along with the extortionists who cause
traders and public transport drivers to go in fear and who compel
them to pay protection money ranging from Rp 100 to Rp 100,000.
