S. Korea and China in Nike Cup final

JAKARTA (JP): South Korea will meet China in the final of the under-14 Asia-Pacific Nike International Premier Cup after beating Japan 2-0 in the semifinals yesterday at South Jakarta's Soemantri Brodjonegoro stadium.

China qualified for the finals after beating Malaysia 2-0. The two goals were scored by Han Long in the 37th minute and Wang Hiao Dong in the 67th minute.

South Korea's two goals came from Kim Su-heung in the 19th and 48th minutes of the 90-minute match.

The final round between South Korea and China will be played today at 4 p.m. followed by a match between Malaysia and Japan for the third and fourth places.

Meanwhile, Indonesia beat Singapore 4-1 yesterday for fifth place.

The Indonesian team, mostly comprising of Persib (Bandung) players, ruled the field with a variety of attacks.

No goals were scored in the first half.

In the 79th minute of the second half Bambang Susanto scored Indonesia's the first goal but Singapore equalized three minutes later through Hazni bin Saptu.

Indonesia then added three more goals, one from Bambang and two from Nurdien.

Singapore still has one game to play against the Philippines for sixth place today. (lnt)
