Ruwiyati gets Rp 10m bonus

JAKARTA (JP): Women's marathon runner Ruwiyati will receive a
Rp 10 million (US$4,500) cash bonus from the state-owned railway
company Perumka for her victory at the 18th Southeast Asian Games
in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Yesterday, at his Salatiga, Central Java-based club, Coach
Alwi Mugiyanto told Antara that the bonus will be presented on
Tuesday by Perumka's general manager, Sumeno Ekosaputro, at its
headquarters in Bandung, West Java.

Perumka, sponsor of Alwi's club, Tiger Lokomotif, will also
reward Alwi with Rp 5 million in cash.

Alwi said he has yet to hear from the National Sports Council,
which has promised Rp 25 million to each Indonesian gold medal
winning athlete in Chiang Mai. "Nobody from the council has told
me about the bonus," Alwi complained. (amd)
