Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Russia’s Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilyov has revealed a request from Indonesia for supplies of petroleum products from Russia. In response, both parties are currently preparing a long-term contract.

“We have received a request from our partners in Indonesia for the supply of petroleum products to them. We are now working seriously to draft a long-term contract with mutually beneficial prices,” said Sergey, quoted from the Russian Government News Agency TASS on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

This refers to systemic cooperation with a long-term agreement that will be achieved.

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, in a press release, affirmed his commitment to guiding energy diplomacy to maintain domestic energy supply stability. This was stated while accompanying President Prabowo’s working visit for a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin Palace, Moscow, Russia, on Monday (13/4) local time.

Bahlil said that the meeting between the two heads of state was to discuss concrete energy cooperation oriented towards national interests. The main focus of the cooperation includes efforts to ensure energy supplies and promote investments in the energy sector.

“This visit is an important momentum to ensure that the national energy supply remains stable and to strengthen national energy resilience,” Bahlil stated in Moscow, Russia, quoted on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

Bahlil emphasised that the government will continue to oversee the implementation of various cooperation opportunities that have been discussed so that they can be realised soon. This step includes the development of oil refineries, strengthening oil trade, and increasing the utilisation of energy technology.

“In the long term, Indonesia is also opening opportunities for collaboration in the clean energy sector. As an effort directed towards supporting energy diversification,” added Bahlil.
