Russia summons British and French ambassadors over missile attack in Bryansk
Moscow – Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the ambassadors of Britain and France to Moscow on Friday (13 March) to lodge strong protests against a Ukrainian missile attack in the Bryansk region.
Through its statement, Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs claimed that the two European nations were directly involved in what it termed a “terrorist attack” that killed seven people and injured more than 40 others.
“It is clear to us that the missile attack on Bryansk could not have occurred without the involvement of British and French expert personnel and without the transfer of intelligence to Kyiv,” the ministry said.
Moscow also characterised the attack on Bryansk as a deliberate provocation aimed at undermining increasingly intensive efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis peacefully.
Moscow demanded that Britain and France issue clear public statements with strong and unambiguous condemnation of the attack.
“If this is not done, it will be considered as a form of solidarity with terrorist methods, which is a disgrace for countries that are permanent members of the UN Security Council,” the statement said.
