Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno donated a 1-ton sacrificial cow to residents of RT 11 RW 07 in Gandaria Utara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. The handover took place during Rano’s visit to the Innovation Village, also known as Smart Village, in the area.

RT 11 head Imam Basori said residents were enthusiastic and grateful for Rano’s visit and support. In addition to the sacrificial cow, the community received equipment and support for environmental innovation development. “Alhamdulillah, the residents are extremely enthusiastic, with an overwhelming response and appreciation from the Deputy Governor towards our RT 11 RW 07 innovations. The community is very happy and finds it highly beneficial,” Imam told reporters in Gandaria, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (27/5/2026).

Imam stated they received a 1-ton sacrificial cow, which will be slaughtered and distributed to local residents and those in need. “Alhamdulillah, a 1-ton cow has been provided for the community. It is highly beneficial. After this event, we will slaughter and distribute it to residents, neighbours, and those in need,” he said.

In addition to the sacrificial cow, Rano praised the residents’ digital-based environmental security innovations, including smart gates, panic button alarms linked to smartphones, community patrols, and GPS tracking. Beyond security, Imam said they plan to develop a new technology-based waste management system called “smart waste”, focusing on plastic and household waste processing to create economic value for residents. “We aim to at least turn waste disposal into blessings and profit. We have coordinated with waste collectors and will use technology for management,” he added. According to Imam, the innovation development will be supported by the assistance received after the Deputy Governor’s visit. He hopes the programme can serve as a model for other areas. “If we don’t inform or publicise it, we wouldn’t have reached the Deputy Governor,” he concluded.
