The Ministry of Investment/Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal (BKPM) has recorded a total of 15.8 million Business Identification Numbers (NIBs) in Indonesia from the 2021-2026 period.

Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani stated that this upward trend occurred following the implementation of Government Regulation No. 28 of 2025 on the Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing.

“NIBs from 2021-2026 have already reached 15.8 million recorded with us. I want to convey that since the implementation of PP 28. Before the programme, we had 13 million, now 15.8 million,” said Rosan during a meeting with Commission XII of the DPR on Monday (13/4).

Rosan stated that this reflects quite high investment interest in Indonesia amid the current global geopolitical and geo-economic conditions.

“So investment interest is high. Our figures are real, we capture all the data. Complete with company names, addresses, business fields, and others. This shows that investments are running and vibrant, and in fact, over the last five months, there has been an increase,” he said.

According to Rosan, up to the first quarter of 2026, investment realisation in Indonesia has reached Rp497 trillion from a target of Rp465 trillion, or an annual growth of 7 per cent.

“Job absorption has reached 627,036 people or an increase of around 5.5 per cent,” he said.

Meanwhile, this year’s total investment target for Indonesia is Rp2,041.3 trillion, up from the previous year’s Rp1,905.6 trillion. Countries dominating investments include Singapore, China, Japan, South Korea, and the United States.

“We have implemented several priority programmes covering various policies. If we look at downstreaming, it still contributes the largest portion, around 30 per cent of all investments that exist and enter Indonesia,” he said.
