JAKARTA — Danantara Rosan Roeslani, Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Management Board (BPI), says the group views investments in the capital market as a long-term strategy amid fluctuations in the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG).

According to Rosan, the fundamentals of state-owned enterprises listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) remain strong and offer attractive yields for investors.

“If we look at investments in the stock market, for us at Danantara this is a long-term investment,” Rosan said after a visit to the Indonesia Stock Exchange, Jakarta, on Tuesday (19 May 2026).

He said several state-owned shares, particularly in the Himbara banking sector and mineral companies, still offer high yields, even above 10–11 per cent.

“If we look at the BUMN listed on the exchange one by one, for example Himbara or mineral firms, the yields are very good at above 10–11 per cent,” he said.

He noted that various policies and actions by regulators are part of a process to create a more transparent capital market with good governance and deeper market structure.

“This is a process we believe will build confidence and make our exchange much better going forward,” he added.

Rosan said investors should not only look at short-term market movements, such as daily or weekly changes.

He is optimistic that Indonesia’s capital market will continue to grow in the long term, in terms of market capitalization, the number of issuers, and the number of investors.

Rosan noted that the number of stock market investors has now reached around 26–27 million, up about 6 million from the previous year, which stood at about 20 million.

“The logic is that this increase happens because investors are confident that our exchange will become better and more promising going forward,” he added.

He also highlighted rising participation by young investors in the market. Therefore, education on medium- and long-term investing is considered increasingly important.

Despite the stock market’s ups and downs, Rosan assures Danantara remains confident about Indonesia’s long-term prospects for the capital market, underpinned by the solid fundamentals of listed companies.
