Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesian government has secured investment from Qatar worth US$2 billion, or approximately Rp 33 trillion. The investment will be channelled through the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia).

Chief Executive Officer of Danantara Indonesia, Rosan Roeslani, declared his institution's full readiness to oversee the realisation of the agreed investment.

"We warmly welcome the trust given by the Government of Qatar through the establishment of this joint fund. Danantara Indonesia is ready to carry out this mandate by applying prudent, transparent, and results-oriented investment governance. Our focus is to ensure that every funded project delivers strategic and sustainable impact for the national economy," said Rosan in an official statement on Tuesday, 15 April 2025.

Rosan emphasised that this collaboration serves as proof of the international community's confidence in Indonesia's institutional capacity to manage large-scale investments.

"This partnership is a concrete step in building trust with strategic global partners such as Qatar. It demonstrates that Indonesia is not only an investment destination but also possesses the institutional capacity to manage investments professionally and accountably," he explained.

The co-partnership initiative and expansion of strategic cooperation is expected not only to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries but also to make a tangible contribution towards accelerating economic development and improving the welfare of the Indonesian people.

During the official visit of President Prabowo Subianto to Doha on Sunday, 13 April 2025, the governments of Indonesia and Qatar held discussions to agree on a strategic co-partnership in managing investment funds for Indonesia, focusing on various development sectors.

One of the key outcomes of the visit was the formation of a joint investment fund worth US$4 billion. The fund will be focused on developing various sectors including, but not limited to, industrial downstreaming, renewable energy, and healthcare facilities in Indonesia.

President Prabowo stated that each country would contribute US$2 billion to the fund. "We have agreed to immediately enhance cooperation. The Emir of Qatar will invest through Danantara Indonesia, with a commitment of US$2 billion for this joint fund," said President Prabowo following his meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Amiri Diwan Palace, Doha.

The fund will be managed by the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia) together with the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), within a strategic co-partnership framework.
