Rosan Plans to Import 50 Boeing Aircraft in Addition to Energy Purchases
JAKARTA — Minister of Investment and Industrialisation/Head of BKPM and Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani has revealed two major plans that directly affect the import balance sheet, namely the purchase of energy and the procurement of aircraft from the United States.
Rosan said the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) includes energy imports of up to US$15 billion per year and the procurement of 50 Boeing aircraft.
“There is a plan to buy 50 Boeing aircraft,” said Rosan in a written statement on Friday, 20 February.
Rosan said that initial communication with Boeing was underway and would be followed up.
Rosan also mentioned the plan to import energy from the United States.
“There is an agreement to import gas and crude oil worth 15 billion dollars per year,” he said.
He emphasised that some parts of the agreement’s implementation fell within the scope of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Affairs, particularly regarding investments and projects currently being prepared.
“We have also started discussions on several possible investments in the pipeline, both in the oil and gas sector and in other fields,” said Rosan.
