The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia’s economy grew by 5.61% (year-on-year/yoy) in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.

Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan P. Roeslani stated that the investment sector contributed around 32% to Indonesia’s economic growth in the first quarter of 2026, which reached 5.61%.

“Alhamdulillah, this 5.61% economic growth shows that our economy is running very well and very positively. From the investment side, it contributes 32% of the total 5.61% growth or around 1.8%,” said Rosan at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/5/2026).

According to him, this investment contribution to national economic growth is higher than previous periods, which averaged around 28-29%.

“So far, investments have contributed around 28-29%. Alhamdulillah, now it’s 32%, so the economic growth in the first quarter has achieved very good results,” he explained.

Previously, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that Indonesia’s economy in the first quarter of 2026 grew by 5.61% annually (year-on-year/yoy). This growth is higher than the same period last year at 4.87%.

BPS Chief Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said that nominally, Indonesia’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2026 reached Rp6,187.2 trillion at current market prices (ADHB). Meanwhile, based on constant prices (ADHK), it was Rp3,447.7 trillion.

“Indonesia’s economy based on the gross domestic product figure in the first quarter of 2026 at current market prices is Rp6,187.2 trillion and at constant prices is Rp3,447.7 trillion, so Indonesia’s economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the first quarter of 2025 or year-on-year grew by 5.61%,” said Amalia during a press conference at the BPS office, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
