Role of Owner and Manager in Drug Circulation at WR Entertainment Venue
The Directorate of Narcotics Crimes (Dittipidnarkoba) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency has arrested the owner and manager of an entertainment venue initialled WR in South Jakarta in connection with an alleged drug trafficking case.
Director of Narcotics Crimes (Dirtipidnarkoba) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated that the arrested owner of WR is initialled AK, while the manager is initialled YLT.
“Based on the examination results of the employee suspects, information was obtained indicating the involvement of management. YLT, as the operational manager, played a role in giving approval when there were orders for narcotics by guests through waiters/servers,” he said.
Furthermore, he added, it was discovered that the narcotics trafficking practice was carried out with the knowledge and approval of AK, as the Director of WR, who also provided security guarantees for the activity.
Following up on this information, a joint team from Subdirectorate IV of Dittipidnarkoba of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency conducted further investigations and pursued the two individuals.
On Wednesday, 18 March, around 4:45 PM WIB, the team successfully secured YLT in Bekasi. On the same day, around 10:30 PM WIB, AK was secured in the South Tangerang area.
Eko revealed that from the interrogation of suspect YLT, as the Operational Manager of WR, it was obtained that the individual had known about the narcotics trafficking in the discotheque since the end of November 2025.
“Suspect YLT also admitted that suspect RE, as the WR supervisor, always confirmed with suspect YLT when there were guests wanting to order and buy narcotics,” he said.
Meanwhile, from the interrogation of suspect AK, as the owner of WR, it was obtained that he admitted to the existence of narcotics trafficking at WR since 2024.
Additionally, AK also admitted that the narcotics trafficking at WR was deliberately allowed by AK so that the discotheque would remain crowded with customers.
“Information was obtained from the suspect that the circulation of narcotics at WR was coordinated by a man who claimed to be named Koko,” he stated.
For the next steps, Eko said, the two suspects will be examined further and the drug trafficking network involved will be developed.
Additionally, investigators will also trace the flow of funds and potential money laundering crimes (TPPU). (Ant)
