Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesian Blockchain Association (ABI) together with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) has emphasised the importance of cross-sector collaboration in driving a more equitable, sustainable, and accessible national digital transformation for various layers of society.

This was affirmed during the Crypto Literacy Month (BLK) 2026, which runs from April to May 2026. The event carries the theme “Integration of Blockchain and Crypto Innovations: Realising an Inclusive Digital Ecosystem Transformation”.

During the event, the role of influencers and content creators came under the spotlight in the crypto ecosystem. With the increasing consumption of digital information, they are seen to have a strategic role in delivering education while shaping a more positive public perception of crypto assets. Therefore, BLK 2026 emphasises the involvement of influencers and content creators to minimise misinformation and promote broader crypto literacy.

Indodax Chief Executive Officer William Sutanto stated that the presence of influencers is inseparable from the development of the crypto industry in Indonesia. However, it still requires clear standardisation or boundaries.

“Platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and others are widely used by influencers to convey news. However, beyond that, this also becomes a business field for influencers, as it involves marketing activities, information distribution, and education,” William said, quoted from his statement on Saturday, 11 April 2026.

He added that the contributions of influencers so far have played an important role in the growth of the crypto industry, particularly in bridging the complexity of information to the public.

“Crypto is a topic that is not easy because it is quite technical, and there are many projects out there. Without the role of parties educating the public, the message conveyed has the potential to be mistaken or not delivered well. The crypto ecosystem in Indonesia would not have developed as it is today without the contributions of influencers and content creators who have promoted the crypto market,” he explained.

Furthermore, William also highlighted the need to strengthen oversight of anonymous accounts that have the potential to spread misinformation or conduct black campaigns.

“As the industry develops, anonymous accounts have begun to emerge whose voices cannot be held accountable but have significant influence. In some cases, including those experienced by Indodax, such accounts have engaged in defamation and black campaigns that are detrimental to both companies and individuals. Therefore, stricter regulations and oversight are needed to ensure the crypto ecosystem remains healthy and integrity-driven,” he said.
