RMA Indonesia Ready to Support After-Sales for 35,000 Mahindra Pikups
Jakarta – PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara has imported 35,000 units of Mahindra Scorpio Pikup directly from Mahindra in India. The move attracted attention due to the large quantity and because the vehicles are intended for the Merah Putih Village-Subdistrict Cooperative Programme. The plan to distribute the vehicles raises questions about after-sales support. Notably, although Mahindra has an official Brand Holder (APM) in Indonesia, namely RMA Indonesia, it was not involved in the procurement process for the vehicles. Moreover, commercial vehicles such as pickups are typically used intensively, requiring strong after-sales support. Mahindra RMA Indonesia has stated that it had no involvement in the procurement transaction. The import process was carried out directly by Agrinas Pangan Nusantara from the Mahindra plant in India, without going through the official APM network in the country. Nevertheless, RMA Indonesia said it remained open to providing after-sales service support if needed. This was stated by Roelof Lamberts, Regional Director of RMA Indonesia. Furthermore, RMA Indonesia said it is prepared to service those units if they later join its workshop network. This support is important given that the imported vehicles will be used across the cooperative in various regions. ‘So, even if those units come to our premises, we will service them. Our RMA network currently covers roughly 20 to 30 locations and will continue to grow,’ said Wilda Bachtiar, General Manager of Mahindra RMA Indonesia.
