Riza Chalid's Trusted Aide, Irawan Prakoso, Testifies in Crude Oil Corruption Case Hearing
JAKARTA - Irawan Prakoso, a trusted aide of Mohamad Riza Chalid, has become a witness in the continuation of the trial for the alleged corruption case concerning the management of crude oil and refinery products at PT Pertamina Persero.
“The first session is exclusively for Mr Irawan Prakoso,” stated Prosecutor Triyana Setia Putra during the hearing at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
Irawan served as a witness for the defendants: Hanung Budya Yuktyanta, Director of Marketing and Commerce at PT Pertamina Persero from April 2012 to 2014, and former VP of Supply and Distribution at PT Pertamina (Persero), Alfian Nasution.
During the hearing, Irawan admitted to still having family relations with Riza Chalid.
Additionally, he had previously worked at a company owned by Riza Chalid.
However, in today’s hearing, he claimed to be only a private citizen, despite knowing Alfian and Hanung.
In addition to Irawan, Muhamad Kerry Adrianto Riza, son of Riza Chalid and beneficial owner of PT Orbit Terminal Merak (PT OTM), will also be presented as a witness in this case.
Two associates of Kerry—Dimas Werhaspati, Commissioner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa and Commissioner of PT JMN; and Gading Ramadhan Joedo, Commissioner of PT JMN and President Director of PT OTM—will also be presented as witnesses.
It is known that Kerry, Gading, and Dimas are scheduled to be examined in the second session of today’s hearing.
Meanwhile, they have already been convicted in a separate case.
The project to rent fuel oil terminals owned by PT OTM caused state financial losses amounting to Rp 2.9 trillion.
Muhamad Kerry Adrianto Riza has been found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in prison with a fine of Rp 1 billion, subsidiary 190 days.
Plus, restitution of Rp 2.9 trillion, subsidiary 5 years in prison.
Dimas Werhaspati, Commissioner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa and Commissioner of PT JMN; and Gading Ramadhan Joedo, Commissioner of PT JMN and President Director of PT OTM, were each sentenced to 13 years in prison with a fine of Rp 1 billion, subsidiary 190 days in prison.
The defendants are believed to have caused state financial losses amounting to Rp 25,439,881,674,368.30 or Rp 25.4 trillion and 2,732,816,820.63 US dollars or 2.7 billion US dollars.
