Global logistics company DHL Express opened a new service point in the Fatmawati area, South Jakarta, on Monday (30/3/2026). This expansion aims to broaden access to international and domestic shipping services for the public and businesses in one of the capital’s most dynamic commercial corridors. The opening of this facility is intended to support the trend of increasing export, import, and domestic shipments, which are now massively driven by small and medium enterprises (SMEs), online sellers, creative workers, and corporate customers. Senior Technical Advisor for DHL Express Indonesia, Ahmad Mohamad, explained that the choice of location in Fatmawati is highly strategic due to its proximity to business centres such as Pondok Indah, Cipete, TB Simatupang, and Cilandak. “Many of our customers currently make shipments to various destinations, from exporting product samples abroad to sending domestic packages to major cities in Indonesia. The Fatmawati service point was built to provide greater convenience for customers in that area,” Ahmad stated in his comments on Tuesday (31/3/2026). This expansion also responds to the acceleration of cross-border e-commerce activities in Indonesia, where the market value has reached USD 120 billion. This growth is driven by high digital adoption and continuously soaring export-import demand. Data indicates that international shipments are projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.99% over the 2026–2031 period. This signals increasing reliance by businesses on express services with high reliability and fast transit times. “Cities like Jakarta remain the main hub for this growth due to high connectivity. Our presence in Fatmawati serves the ecosystem of businesses, retail brands, expatriate communities, and rapidly growing digital-first businesses in South Jakarta,” Ahmad added. Through this new service point, customers can access DHL’s global air network for international shipments as well as time-critical domestic express routes. The facility is expected to become the logistical backbone for local entrepreneurs to more easily penetrate global markets. “The opening of the Fatmawati Service Point further strengthens DHL Express Indonesia’s national footprint. We are committed to being present in key locations to directly support customers’ shipping needs,” Ahmad concluded.
