The Rimpu Parade 2026 in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), took place on Saturday (25/4/2026) in a lively manner. The organising committee of the 2026 Rimpu Mantika Festival recorded that the number of participants in the parade reached 86,000 people.
The Rimpu Parade is one of the events in the 2026 Rimpu Mantika Festival, held by the Bima City Government (Pemkot). This festival is an annual agenda and is included in the National Charisma Event Calendar (KEN) of the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar).
The Chairman of the 2026 Rimpu Mantika Festival Committee, Firdaus, stated that the number of participants was based on data collection and raffle coupons distributed by the committee. This figure exceeded the set target.
“The Rimpu Parade today was attended by 86,000 participants. This number exceeds the targeted 85,000 participants,” said Firdaus when confirmed by detikBali on Saturday (25/4).
Firdaus explained that the Rimpu Mantika Festival has been held three times since being included in the KEN of Kemenpar. The events took place in 2024, 2025, and 2026.
“Since being included in the KEN of Kemenpar, the Rimpu Mantika Festival has been held three times in Bima City, namely in 2024, 2025, and 2026,” he clarified.
In addition to the Rimpu Parade, the 2026 Rimpu Mantika Festival also featured various other activities, such as fashion shows of local cultural costumes, MSME bazaars, and Bima arts attractions. The activities ran for four days, from 24 to 27 April 2026.
“The 2026 Rimpu Mantika Festival was held from 24 to 27 April 2026,” he said.
Firdaus is optimistic that the Rimpu Mantika Festival will again be included in the KEN of Kemenpar and held in 2027. He assessed that the event not only preserves local culture but also drives the growth of the creative economy.
“In addition to preserving and maintaining local cultural wisdom, the Rimpu Mantika Festival is also capable of boosting the local creative economy (ekraf),” he emphasised.
Pushed to Become a Creative City
A representative from the Ministry of Creative Economy, Abdul Malik, appreciated the vibrancy of the 2026 Rimpu Mantika Festival. He assessed that Bima City has great potential to be designated as a creative city based on culture by the Ministry of Creative Economy.
“I see that Bima City has considerable opportunities and potential to be designated by the Ministry of Creative Economy as a creative city based on culture,” he said.
According to Malik, Rimpu is a Bima local culture and wisdom packaged creatively, thus attracting broad public participation.
“Rimpu Mantika is a blend of creative innovation and local wisdom,” he stated.
He encouraged the Bima City Government to continue holding the Rimpu Mantika Festival as an annual agenda and to improve the quality of the organisation through cross-sector collaborations.
Furthermore, Malik assessed that the festival needs to be directed not merely as entertainment, but also as an economic driver and an increase in tourist visits.
“In the future, it must be made an attraction to draw tourist visits. This will have a positive impact on the government, hospitality services, as well as MSME and creative economy actors,” Malik added.
Based on observations by detikBali, the Rimpu Parade was officially opened by the Deputy Governor (Wagub) of NTB, Indah Dhamayanti Putri. The parade started from Paruga Convention Hall and ended at the Asi Mbojo Museum.
In addition to being attended by Bima Mayor A Rahman, Deputy Mayor Feri Sofiyan, and the Forkopimda, the parade also involved various groups. From the ranks of Bima City Government OPDs, SOEs, TNI/Polri, students, teachers, university students, lecturers, to the general public.
