The Riau Islands Provincial Government is holding the Simultaneous Affordable Food Movement (GPM) in 2026 at 69 locations spread across seven districts/cities. This program will be implemented throughout the year in collaboration with Perum Bulog as a key partner to maintain the stability of supply and prices of basic necessities.

The Governor of Riau Islands, Ansar Ahmad, emphasized that the GPM is part of a national movement to ensure the availability of basic needs for the community, especially in the face of economic dynamics and the potential for price increases ahead of major religious holidays.

“This GPM is a form of state presence in guaranteeing the basic needs of the community. We want inflation to remain under control and the purchasing power of the community not to be disrupted,” he said.

The simultaneous launch of the GPM has begun since February 9, 2026, and will take place gradually in various regions. In addition to being held regularly, its implementation will also be adjusted to coincide with moments such as Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and other major religious holidays, which are usually followed by increased community consumption.

The Acting Regional Secretary of the Riau Islands Province, Luki Zaiman, said that the implementation of the GPM can be carried out simultaneously or adjusted to the conditions of each region.

“We encourage it to be carried out together, but the technical aspects still depend on the needs and situation in the districts/cities,” he said on Wednesday (February 25).

He added that the commodities provided are not only rice and cooking oil, but also other basic necessities according to the needs of the local community.

As a strategic partner, Bulog branches in Batam and Tanjungpinang are preparing stocks of main commodities such as SPHP rice, premium rice, and Minyak Kita at prices below market prices.

In Tanjungpinang, Bulog distributed 2 tons of SPHP rice, 1 ton of premium rice, and 50 boxes of Minyak Kita. Meanwhile, in Batam, the GPM activity was held on February 9-13, 2026, at two different locations each day, involving local distributors and businesses.

The Head of the Batam Branch of Perum Bulog, Guido XL Pereira, affirmed his commitment to fully supporting the implementation of the GPM throughout the year.

“We ensure that the stock remains safe. If there is a surge in demand, we will adjust the supply so that prices remain stable and the community can easily obtain basic necessities,” he said.

Based on monitoring in the field, a number of commodities are sold below market prices, including SPHP rice at IDR 58,000 per 5 kilograms, premium rice at IDR 70,000 per 5 kilograms, Minyak Kita at IDR 14,000 per liter, and chicken eggs at IDR 50,000 per tray. The enthusiasm of residents is high every time the activity is held.

The Head of the Availability and Distribution of Food of the Riau Islands Province Food Security Agency, Mohammad Riza Pahlevi, said that the GPM and market operations will be held evenly throughout the districts/cities, involving vertical agencies and various stakeholders.

“Bulog provides basic necessities at prices below market prices, while the Provincial Government facilitates the location and operational activities,” he said. He added that the budget for each activity ranges from IDR 10 million to IDR 15 million.

Through the Simultaneous GPM 2026, the Riau Islands Provincial Government hopes that price stability will be maintained, inflation will be controlled, and the region’s food security will be strengthened. This cross-sectoral collaboration is also expected to be a socio-economic buffer for the community in the face of ongoing economic challenges. (H-2)

Perum Bulog carried out a simultaneous surprise inspection of markets throughout Indonesia to ensure the availability of rice and Minyakita stocks and price stability.

The Deputy Director of Perum Bulog, Marga Taufiq, together with the Regional Head of Bulog for Central Java, Sri Muniati, accompanied the Chair of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Siti Hediati, on a working visit to Central Java.

The Deputy Head of the Banyumas Branch of Perum Bulog, Muhammad Haekal, reminded retailers to comply with the price provisions in accordance with applicable regulations.

The price of Minyakita at the consumer level has been set and must be obeyed by all business actors. The price of Minyakita at the consumer level is IDR 15,700 per liter.

In addition to 22,000 tons of CBP rice, Bulog Central Sulawesi also has stocks of about 236 tons of sugar and 537,000 liters of cooking oil.

The price of medium rice at the Sidodadi Market in Cilacap is in the range of IDR 13,000-13,500 per kg and premium rice is IDR 14,000-14,500 per kg.

From a macro perspective, stable prices create business certainty, demand visibility, investor confidence, and protection of the community’s purchasing power.

The Central Java Provincial Government is intensifying the Affordable Food Movement (GPM) and market operations. In the near future, as many as 308 GPMs will be held in all districts/cities in Central Java.

The price of food at the Terong Market is relatively stable with sufficient supply.

At the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, conducted a surprise inspection at the Larangan Traditional Market, Candi District, Sidoarjo Regency, on Thursday (February 19).
