With a system that is increasingly accessible and easy to reach, it is hoped that active public participation in registering their works will increase, towards creating a resilient innovation ecosystem in the Riau Islands region. Tanjungpinang (ANTARA) - The Riau Islands Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kanwil Kemenkum Kepri) presented the Mobile Intellectual Property Clinic (MIPC) service along with a leisurely walk to commemorate World Intellectual Property Day in 2026. The Head of the Riau Islands Regional Office of the Ministry of Law, Edison Manik, stated that through this mobile clinic service, the public can consult for free on procedures for registering trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs. “It was recorded that four residents directly utilised this consultation service to discuss the protection of their works,” said the Head of the Riau Islands Regional Office of the Ministry of Law when opening the 2026 World Intellectual Property Day commemoration event in the Tepi Laut area, Tanjungpinang City, on Sunday. He conveyed that the sports sector holds very high economic and creative potential, making intellectual property protection an important foundation for its actors. The Head of the Regional Office also hopes that through the combination of sports and public services, public awareness of the importance of intellectual property protection will continue to grow within society. “With a system that is increasingly close and easy to reach, it is hoped that active participation of residents in registering their works will increase, towards creating a resilient innovation ecosystem in the Kepri region,” he explained. The peak of the intellectual property commemoration event was marked by the handover of intellectual property certificates as tangible evidence of legal protection from the state. “This handover serves as a symbol that protecting works is now increasingly easy and reaches various fields,” said Edison Manik. On the same occasion, officers also distributed informative brochures and provided attractive souvenirs for participating residents. This communicative approach has proven effective in breaking down the rigidity of legal information into a warmer dialogue.
