Riau has new police chief

PEKANBARU, Riau: Col. Mukhlis Mukhtar, former inspector at the
Jakarta Police, was installed as the new Riau Police chief on
Saturday, Antara said.

He replaced Brig. Gen. Moch. Maliki Sudirja who was recently
appointed deputy chief of West Java Police, Antara reported.

The military ceremony, attended by Riau Governor Soeripto, was
held at Hang Tuah Stadium. (09)
