RI mission in Australia
JAKARTA (JP): An Indonesian delegation led by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry's chairman Aburizal Bakrie arrived in Canberra yesterday for a five-day mission to promote trade and economic cooperation with Australia.
The delegation of 55 business people met with Australian Prime Minister John Howard and several Australian ministers yesterday, Antara reported.
The delegation will meet with deputy prime minister/trade minister Tim Fischer today and take part in an Australia- Indonesia forum in Sydney tomorrow to work on plans for concrete business cooperation under the Australia-Indonesia Development Area (AIDA) arrangement.
It will also attend an annual business meeting in Sydney on Thursday under the auspices of the Australia-Indonesia Business Council, the agency said.
The delegation will meet the Olympic 2000 committee in Sydney before meeting executives of Broken Hill Proprietary and Engineering Education Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne on Friday. (13)
