RI, India sign MOU for consultation
JAKARTA: Indonesia and India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Establishment of a Joint Consultative Forum for Bilateral Consultation.
Indonesia's Director General for Political Affairs Nugroho Wisnumurti and Ambassador of India Sudhir Tukaram Devare represented their respective countries in Tuesday's signing ceremony, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affair.
Wisnumurti said he was optimistic the establishment of the forum would be beneficial and contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
Devare said that the memorandum would facilitate even closer and more productive ties between both countries.
On the basis of the memorandum, the two nations will meet periodically to discuss bilateral matters as well as international issues of common interest. (09)
