RI forex reserves weaken
JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's net foreign exchange reserves fell by US$58 million to $16.60 billion in the week ending on Dec. 15 from $16.65 billion the previous week, Bank Indonesia reported on Thursday.
The central bank said in its weekly report the drop was partly due to debt repayment.
Gross international reserves -- net foreign exchange reserves plus outstanding foreign exchange contracts -- also fell, dropping to $27.53 billion from $27.59 billion, the central bank said.
The primary money in circulation dropped by Rp 881 billion to Rp 82.24 trillion as of Dec. 14 from Rp 83.76 trillion as of Dec. 7, due to an increase in money in circulation.(rei)
