Jakarta — New facts have emerged regarding the incident in which a white Hyundai Santa Fe crashed into a house fence on Jalan Brawijaya, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, in the early hours of Wednesday, 18 February 2026.

The house, previously reported as belonging to Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK), turns out not to be JK’s personal residence. Police have confirmed that the property is owned or occupied by one of JK’s children.

South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Section Head Commissioner Murodih provided clarification regarding information that had been circulating publicly.

“The house belongs to Pak JK’s child,” he told reporters on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.

A similar confirmation was separately conveyed by JK’s spokesperson, Husain Abdullah, who corrected reports claiming the house was the direct residence of the former second-highest ranking official in Indonesia.

“It is not Pak JK’s house. It belongs to his daughter,” said Husain.

As previously reported, the calm of the early morning hours in the Brawijaya area of Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, was suddenly shattered when a Hyundai Santa Fe struck the fence of the house on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.

The incident occurred at approximately 03:30 Western Indonesian Time, when most residents were still asleep. The loud impact from the front of the prominent national figure’s residence drew attention from the surrounding area.

Police confirmed the incident. South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Section Head Commissioner Murodih said the accident report was received shortly after the event.

“It is correct that we received information about the fence-crashing incident at the property,” Murodih said when asked for confirmation.

From the initial investigation, the vehicle was driven by a woman with the initials HP, aged 35. The preliminary suspicion is that the driver lost concentration due to drowsiness.

“But it is indeed still being investigated further. However, based on the information, it was due to drowsiness. Because the incident occurred at 03:30 Western Indonesian Time,” he said.

Fortunately, the incident did not result in any casualties. The vehicle that struck the fence has been evacuated from the scene.

Police stated that the driver had shown good faith by agreeing to take responsibility for the damage. She even handed over her vehicle registration certificate as a guarantee.
