Return traffic on Cipali Toll Road to Jakarta surges on Tuesday morning
Subang (ANTARA) - Vehicle traffic crossing the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road section in West Java towards Jakarta experienced a significant surge on H+2 Eid al-Fitr, or Tuesday morning, compared to the same period the previous day. Head of Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Department at Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated in Subang, West Java, on Tuesday that based on data from 00.00 WIB to 09.00 WIB during this H+2 Eid period, one-way traffic towards Jakarta was monitored as busy but smooth. Approximately 36,000 vehicles had crossed the Cipali Toll Road towards Jakarta from early Tuesday morning until morning. “The number of vehicles passing towards Jakarta is 167% higher than the same period the previous day,” he said. Meanwhile, cumulatively in both directions (towards Jakarta and towards Cirebon), the total traffic volume on the Cipali Toll Road section was 36% higher than the same period yesterday. In line with the vehicle surge, Astra Tol Cipali urged road users to always prioritise safety, maintain safe distances between vehicles, and comply with instructions from on-site officers during the traffic engineering period. Furthermore, to ensure collective safety, road users were advised not to change lanes during one-way operations. “Changing lanes during one-way is very dangerous. We also urge not to stop on the road shoulder except in emergencies,” he said. Road users are advised to rest at the nearest rest area or utilise rest facilities outside the nearest toll gate if parking capacity is full, with the guarantee of the same toll fare (accumulated per kilometre). On the Cipali Toll Road, several rest areas are available, namely at KM 86, KM 102, KM 130A, and KM 166 towards Cirebon. Then rest areas at KM 164, KM 130B, KM 101, and functional rest area at KM 77 towards Jakarta.
