Return of Dozens of Umrah Pilgrims from Indramayu Delayed Due to US–Israel–Iran Conflict
Indramayu — The escalating tensions in the Middle East following clashes between Iran, the United States and Israel have affected Umrah pilgrims from Indramayu Regency. Those in the Holy Land cannot yet return to Indonesia.
Owner of Arofah Amanah Travel, Iroh Rohayani, explained that the group of Umrah pilgrims dispatched on 22 February 2026 remains in Saudi Arabia. However, given the conflict in the region, their return schedule has been temporarily delayed.
‘Alhamdulillah, all pilgrims are safe in Saudi Arabia. But regarding their repatriation, due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the situation is unstable and not conducive, so for the moment the pilgrims are being accommodated in hotels in Saudi Arabia,’ he said on Wednesday (4 March 2026).
He confirmed that all needs—food, accommodation, and religious guidance for the pilgrims—are being provided. His group, together with the Indonesian government and the hotels, continues to monitor the pilgrims’ condition and developments in the region to guarantee their safe arrival back home.
‘For now the pilgrims remain in hotels there. Alhamdulillah, the Indonesian government and the partner companies in Saudi Arabia are taking full responsibility,’ he explained.
Iroh added that for each Umrah departure, they always form a WhatsApp group. Through that group, communication with the pilgrims is maintained.
According to him, information obtained from the pilgrims is then relayed to their families. Families can obtain updates to stay calm amid the tense situation in the Middle East.
Iroh stated that the next Umrah departure is scheduled for 30 March 2026. He hopes conditions in the region will soon be safe and stable so that pilgrims can be dispatched as scheduled.
‘As of late March, about 40 people have registered,’ he said.
