Response to Osvaldo

Response to Osvaldo

Please, allow me a little space to respond to Osvaldo's
perplexing letter of Nov. 25, which was in fact rowdy.

I had no intention of responding to you again due to lack of
time. But nevertheless, this must be my last word, no more.

First, in your letter to The Jakarta Post you attempted to
pretend that your first letter to the Post (Nov. 18) was only
talking about oil prices. But let me quote its first paragraph:
"The word has suddenly discovered that Nigeria is a tough place.
I lived eight and a half years there. It has always been brutal."

Secondly, for you it's prestigious to know about my country as
well as the Hausa language, some of which you unfortunately could
not even quote correctly. For example, the word Baturi should be
written thus Bature ending with "E" not "I" .

Before dropping my pen, I must tell you that I really have no
single objection to you in case you stay or you plan to stay
eight and a half years in each country on this earth. However, I
do hope you'll keep to himself any negative comments about each
of the countries after you leave.
